Published on:<\/strong><\/em> June 1, 2022<\/em><\/p>\n FTA today issued a Request for Information<\/a> soliciting input from industry stakeholders on updating FTA\u2019s Strategic Transit Automation Research (STAR) Plan<\/a>. The STAR program, a five-year research plan on transit bus automation, establishes a research and demonstration framework that involves academia, public institutions, and the private sector to help determine the potential benefits and costs and provide transit agencies with the resources, guidance, and tools to make informed deployment decisions. Comments are due Monday, August 1, 2022.<\/p>\n The transit industry\u2019s input is important in identifying the next phase of research, collaboration and engagement, technology development, and demonstration of advanced driver assistance systems.
