The FTA-sponsored report breaks down each element of the Safety Management System (SMS) and explains how they support, direct and further the accident investigation process. The report also includes recommended policies and procedures.<\/p>\n FTA\u2019s SMS framework shifts the industry from a reactive stance to a more proactive one with a greater focus on safety event prevention.
