This training is designed for staff who perform the role of dispatcher and/or scheduler in a rural, small urban, or tribal transit agency. It is appropriate for new and seasoned staff.

Agenda:

9-10:15 AM: Dispatch Training
10:15-10:30 AM: Break
10:30 AM: De-escalation training begins
12:30-12:50 PM: Lunch break
12:50-2:30 PM: Final round of scenarios/debrief
2:30-3 PM: Training review

Cathleen Amick will be providing Dispatch training based on National RTAP curriculum.

Join The De-escalation Team for an interactive workshop to explore de-escalation tools and best practices. This training will demonstrate realistic, industry-specific conflict situations through six customized Dispatcher scenarios, supported by a team who guide, coach, and role-play escalation and de-escalation dynamics in real time. Participants actively engage in observing, responding to, and reshaping difficult on-the-job interactions, building practical skills in staying composed under pressure, communicating clearly, and de-escalating tension in high-stakes environments.
