Apply for FTA’s Excellence in Environmental Document Preparation Award

FTA is now accepting applications for its Outstanding Achievement Award for Excellence in Environmental Document Preparation. The biennial award recognizes environmental documents prepared for projects that will receive or anticipate receiving federal funds that:

• exemplify innovative approaches or best practices for well-managed environmental decision processes,
• comply with requirements and expectations, and
• reduce paperwork.

Eligible documents include environmental assessments and environmental impact statements signed from July 2021 to December 31, 2022. Find more information about the award, including past winners, on the award webpage. Transit agencies may contact and discuss eligibility with their FTA Regional Office. Send nominations – including environmental document and brief justification – to Dee Phan by June 30, 2023.

FTA will notify winners in September and present awards to recipients at the 2023 APTA TRANSform Meeting in October.
