Expired Transit Service Planning Session 2: Greater Minnesota Agency Panel Discussion

For the second online session of the Transit Service Planning series, three Greater Minnesota transit agencies will share their experiences with transit service planning. Each agency has different experiences and will share success, challenges, and things they might do differently. Some of the challenges included maintaining local support, staffing, and communications. Learn how each agency successfully overcame these challenges. The panelists will be joined by Noel Shughart of MnDOT for insight in to how local transit agencies can use support from MnDOT to plan service improvements. Topics to be covered include the challenges of merging independent transit systems into a single agency, transitioning from dial-a-ride servicer to a scheduled route, determining when and how to establish contracts for service, and integrating contract service into existing services.
