FINAL REMINDER: Register for the Suicide Prevention Signage on Public Transit Webinar (1/25/23)

Register for the Suicide Prevention Webinar on January 25, 2023 at 12:00 PM CT. FTA will provide an overview of current suicide trends and the impact on the transit industry, and the use of signage as a countermeasure to mitigate suicide-related events on public transit. Guest speakers from the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration and San Francisco Bay Area Rapid Transit (BART) will discuss suicide prevention information and resources available to public transit agencies, the 988-suicide hotline number, and BART’s experience with suicide-related events.
Attendees are welcome to exit the webinar and re-enter at any point if they feel the content is uncomfortable. The webinar materials and recording will also be posted after the webinar.
On December 7, 2022, FTA issued Safety Advisory 22-4: Suicide Prevention Signage on Public Transit which encourages transit agencies to implement, update, or expand suicide prevention signage and messaging campaigns that apply best practices for reducing suicide attempts.
