FTA Announces $25 Million through the American Rescue Plan Act of 2021 to Help Transit Agencies Plan to Restore Service

FTA today announced the award of approximately $25 million to support 50 recipients through the American Rescue Plan Act of 2021 to help public transportation agencies restore service that was reduced due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
Under FTA’s Route Planning Restoration Program, funding can be used for transit route restoration planning that is designed to increase ridership, reduce travel times and make service adjustments to increase the quality or frequency of transit service for low-income riders and disadvantaged neighborhoods or communities.
