FTA Announces Funding Opportunity for Research to Practice Initiative

FTA today announced the opportunity for national nonprofit organizations to apply for $545,000 in funding to launch a new Research to Practice (R2P) Initiative to develop a systematic approach for sharing lessons learned from FTA research. The R2P will identify research methods that work best for transit professionals as well help develop plans to put them into practice. The successful organization also will help create an outreach program to highlight FTA research findings for future use by transit agencies.
Funding for the Research to Practice Initiative is provided under FTA’s Technical Assistance and Workforce Development Program. This program supports FTA’s Research, Demonstration and Innovation program activities by assessing promising practices for R2P within the transit industry.
