FTA Announces Historic Funding to Modernize Ferry Service and Connect Rural Communities

FTA today announced $294.5 million in competitive grant funding is now available for its Ferry Grant Programs. The funds will support efforts that help people get better access to transit, supporting President Biden’s call to promote equity and address climate change.
FTA’s Ferry Programs, which includes two new competitive programs this year, supports transit agencies modernize and improve passenger ferry service, establish new service, transition to climate-friendly technologies and expand ferry services to rural areas.
The application period will close on September 6, 2022.
