FTA Earth Day Event to Celebrate Climate Challenge Participants

Join FTA for an Earth Day Event on Monday, April 22 at 2 p.m. ET to celebrate the successes of Phase 3 of FTA’s Sustainable Transit for a Healthy Planet Challenge. This virtual event will be hosted by FTA’s Acting Administrator Veronica Vanterpool and will highlight outstanding efforts made by transit agencies to curb their greenhouse gas emissions.
FTA’s Climate Challenge encourages transit agencies to take bold actions and prioritize investments to help tackle the climate crisis. Since the launch of the Challenge in June 2021, 230 agencies have signed on. Over 100 of the participating agencies have developed climate action plans that outline strategies to achieve measurable reductions in greenhouse gas emissions. Together, these agencies are helping advance President Biden’s ambitious greenhouse gas reduction and climate equity goals.
