FTA Seeks Applicants for Transit Asset Management Best Practices Review Pilot Project

Published on: December 8, 2022

FTA’s Transit Asset Management (TAM) Program staff seek applicants for a new program focused on promoting best practices for transit asset management. Through the Best Practices Review Pilot Program, FTA will review TAM plans and implementation for transit agencies and TAM group plan sponsors.

The program builds on FTA’s TAM Plan Self-Assessment Tool, which helps transit agencies assess the quality and completeness of their TAM plans. Participants selected as part of the pilot program will submit documentation and participate in interviews with FTA staff, then will receive a written report summarizing the results of the review. The pilot program is limited to 12 participants, and FTA will share final reports online.

To participate in the program, submit an application, a TAM Plan self-assessment, your agency’s initial (2018) TAM Plan, and your most recent TAM plan to Sarah.Skeen@dot.gov by December 23, 2022.

Please note that participating transit agencies should have the support of their accountable executive, as requested documentation and interviews are expected to involve multiple departments within the agency. Please contact Sarah Skeen at Sarah.Skeen@dot.gov for more information.
