FTA’s TAM Program Accepting Applications to Participate in September Discussion Forum on Investment Scenarios

Published on: August 24, 2022

FTA’s Transit Asset Management (TAM) Program is launching a Peer Program with a Forum on TAM Investment Scenarios to be held 1:00-2:30 p.m. CT September 29, 2022. The forum will allow staff members from transit agencies to meet virtually and work collaboratively to address ways to exceed the requirements in the TAM Rule (49 CFR 625). These forums promote peer-to-peer education, the distribution of peer-designed resources, and collaboration regarding best practices. Discussion forums are limited to no more than 10 participants, but FTA will share the outcomes of each forum with case studies and/or presentations.

The September TAM Program discussion forum will focus on TAM investment scenarios, which help transit agencies identify funding levels for transit asset investments by estimating the effects of varying transit funding levels. TAM investment scenarios are one element in helping transit agency staff develop their TAM programs by exceeding requirements in the TAM rule.

Transit staff responsible for managing transit assets and making recommendations to leadership about investment scenario decisions are eligible to participate. Participants should be well-versed in their agencies’ asset management processes and policies and must be willing to collaborate and share ideas on investment scenarios.

To participate in the September discussion forum, please fill out this form by Tuesday, September 6, 2022. Questions? Contact Tamalynn Kennedy at tamalynn.kennedy@dot.gov.
