National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA) 101 Online Course from FTA

FTA announced the availability of a new free training course, National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA) 101.

The online course is designed to increase understanding of the basic requirements of NEPA and FTA’s environmental review procedures, including:

• NEPA defined
• When NEPA requirements apply to projects
• Roles and responsibilities of FTA staff and project sponsors within the context of NEPA
• The three different NEPA classes of action and when each applies
• Environmental review, documentation, and public involvement requirements

The self-paced course, which can be taken any time, is available through the National Transit Institute. Register
