NOW AVAILABLE: De-Escalation Training Resource Directory

FTA published a new training resource directory to support the transit industry in developing, implementing and updating their de-escalation training. De-escalation training focuses on providing participants with the knowledge and skills to reduce the likelihood of assault incidents during revenue service. The directory is geared towards bus and rail transit providers, State Safety Oversight Agencies and State Departments of Transportation.

The transit industry can benefit from learning about resources peer agencies and industry associations use to improve transit worker safety through training. In addition, FTA sponsors de-escalation training on assault awareness and prevention and violence in the transit workplace to help participants prevent, respond to and recover from workplace violence.
