Scott/Carver Counties Mobility Management’s Hop Scott Volunteer Program started as volunteer transportation offering food deliveries. It was recognized in the National Aging and Disability Transportation Center (NADTC) 2023 Innovations Showcase publication because it is more than that. It showed innovation in the areas of accessibility and equity when it expanded to include citizen transport for non-emergency medical needs, transports for mental health, vets helping vets transportation, and now coordination with MiCASA to assist the Latino population in Scott County.
This Minnesota program is featured on page 12 of the publication, which is dedicated to celebrating and enhancing the visibility of groundbreaking transportation programs. It’s one of 14 organizations selected by the NADTC through a nationwide competition.
