Updates to TSA Security Directive FAQs on Federal Face Mask Requirement

The Transportation Security Administration (TSA) updated Frequently Asked Question (FAQs) regarding Federal mask requirement applicability, enforcement and implementation. Updates have been made to questions 4, 6, 7, 12, 14 and question 15 is new. Please note the new range of penalties will be $500-$1,000 for first offenders and $1,000-$3,000 for second offenders. To help ensure the continued safety of our nation’s public transit workers, the National Transit Institute (NTI) offers virtual Assault Awareness and Prevention and Violence in the Transit Workplace courses. Registration is required. These courses support the FTA Enhanced Transit Safety and Crime Prevention Initiative to provide information and resources to help transit agencies address and prevent crime on their systems and protect transit workers and riders.
