Bipartisan Infrastructure Law Changes to PTASP Requirements + Upcoming 03/01/22 Webinar

Published on: February 18, 2022

Today, FTA published a Dear Colleague Letter to inform the transit industry of Bipartisan Infrastructure Law changes to Public Transportation Agency Safety Plan (PTASP) requirements.

The new requirements apply to transit agencies with an Agency Safety Plan (ASP) in place under the PTASP regulation (49 CFR Part 673). FTA encourages transit agencies to review their ASP to determine if it meets these requirements. To support this implementation, FTA is hosting a Bipartisan Infrastructure Law Changes to PTASP Requirements Webinar on Tuesday, March 1, 2022, from 2:00 pm–3:00 pm CT. Please REGISTER to participate.

Safety is the number one priority of the U.S. Department of Transportation and FTA. We are working expeditiously to implement the changes called for in the Bipartisan Infrastructure Law to enhance transit safety. All FTA updates related to the Bipartisan Infrastructure Law are available on www.transit.dot.gov/BIL. For any further questions about Bipartisan Infrastructure Law requirements, please contact us at FTA-IIJA@dot.gov.
